more photos from Mozambique
The main street in Milanje, Mozambique. Looking up the boulevard to the faded glory of the old local government buildings.
a Mozambican 'stout' or 'preta'...pretty similar to Carlsberg 'stout', but nice enough on a hot day
getting towards the end of the 3 hour dusty drive, the peak is Mt Mabu
my room. no en suite, but great view and ventilation!
the moon setting behind Mt Mabu at dawn, and the abandoned tea estate house we dossed down in overnight
if at first you don't succeed...
the charcoal graffiti indicated that the place was (or had been) used as a primary school by the local villagers
a wee field of cassava and a hut outside the protected zone
women and girls from the village pounding cassava into a flour
